Mikmax: Online store for Mikmax, the Barcelona house that dresses hotel beds in linen, silk and organic cotton. Three ways to buy a bed, and a trade door that opens on its own.

The brief
Mikmax makes bed and bath linen in Barcelona for hotels, and sells it to everyone else online. The catalogue lives in Shopify, but the way the brand sells does not: a bed is a lookbook, a duvet cover travels with its pillowcases, and a reseller or an interior designer pays a different price from a guest who liked the sheets. The shop had to hold all of that on a plan without Shopify's own B2B, and the first version had to be live in two weeks.
The decision
Three ways to buy, one catalogue. Shop is the product by room, bedroom, bathroom, accessories, with a quick filter by material. Looks are fourteen beds photographed in the same concrete room, each one a combination of pieces from different families: you choose a size per component and the colours stay as the stylist left them. Sets are the same idea inside one family, a duvet cover with its pillowcases, colour closed, sizes open. Everything else stays white and quiet, so the fabric does the talking.
Mikmax for Business is the fourth door. A reseller or a designer fills in one form, the company is checked and, if the numbers add up, they are buying at trade price before anyone at Mikmax has read it. The catalogue shows them their own prices, and the cart tells a designer how much more to add to reach the next tier.
The part nobody sees
Shopify owns price, stock and variants; Sanity owns the beds. A look or a set is a Sanity document pointing at Shopify variants, so the cart carries ordinary lines plus a label that groups them back into the bed they came from. The bundle discount is a Shopify Function reading a metafield: the team changes the rule in the admin and nothing is deployed.
Wholesale works the same way. Each application is scored against VIES and Companies House, approved customers get a tag, and a second Function gives resellers a flat rate and designers a sliding scale, on a plan where Shopify's native B2B is not available. Under that, alerts when a size comes back, Spanish and English copy, automatic promotions read straight from the store, and a webhook that puts a published change on the page in seconds.

Eight projects on a wheel that turns forty-five degrees at a time, and a home page that changes as far as you move.
Thirty projects, four continents, and a header that takes its colour from every page.
Fifteen frames of studio life on the home page, changing while you read.
Almost no interface: a wordmark, a clock, and a cursor that leaves photographs behind.
